A resident room in an extended care facility must contain a bed, an overbed table, a chair, a wardrobe (somewhere to hang clothes), and a nightstand.

Of course, we follow this federal law in our extended care projects; however it is our absolute joy to do so! We love our customers and their residents, and we want to provide rooms that meet all regulations, yet are as beautiful as they are functional.
What can you expect in a room furnished by Basic American?
Beds
Resident-friendly with quiet, smooth operation, our easy-to-assemble beds provide a high-quality rest that more than meets expectations (and laws).
Overbed Tables
We offer a wide variety of overbed tables that are sure to meet every budget and need. For some tables, made-to-order is an option.
Resident Chair
Our chairs are made with high-density molded foam cushions, making them easier for seniors to get in and out of. Fabric for the seating options are of the highest quality; stain-resistant with moisture barrier backing in most cases.
Wardrobe
Also available in a variety of finishes and styles. Wardrobes provide a convenient way to hang clothes. Wardrobes can be attached to the wall to avoid tipping.
Nightstand
Available in a variety of finishes and styles. Rounded edges provide added safety.
Yes, federal laws overseeing extended care facilities are a must but, we strive to follow those regulations with our heart and soul put into every project.

After all, it’s not just a room or facility, this is where our seniors call home.
